When you’re a high-ranking executive, government official or just someone with a shed-load of dosh, buying a bomb-proof Rolls is a good idea.
When you’re a high-ranking petrol-head however, watching said bomb-proof Rolls being tested to oblivion is not a good idea.
Step forward German armourers Mutec, who provide a package for shoring up the defence capabilities of the super-cool £270,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom.

They’ve helpfully included a video of them testing the poor Rolls-Royce, with gratuitous shots of them, erm firing shots at the Rolls’ new armour, before dropping a couple of grenades under the chassis and letting rip.
Needless to say, watching a Phantom (nearly) stand up to this unerring punishment is both masochistic and – conversely – hugely satisfying. As you will see, aside from the obvious bullet wounds and a few scratches here and there, the Rolls looks like it could take on an army.
But if the armour-proofing eventually begins to wear thin, you’ll still be able to revel in the majesty of the Rolls’ glorious engine and power – enough to escape to safety, at least.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom comes equipped with a 6.75-litre V12 engine producing 453bhp and 531lb/ft of pulling power, meaning a 0-60mph time of 5.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 150mph – all in the comfort of an opulent leather and wood bound interior, giving you the tranquillity to count your next million in peace.
