Jeremy Clarkson injured his neck while testing out the limits of the 476bhp Nissan GT-R - declaring it "fan-bleedin-tastic", while he and James May bought two old luxury cruisers.

Vijay Pattni rounds up all the cars from last night's petrol-powered show - including the stunning new Peugeot 308 RC-Z coupe.

Nissan GT-R

Last week’s mammoth Top Gear challenge saw Jeremy Clarkson narrowly beat Richard Hammond and James May using the new Nissan GT-R in a race across Japan.

And this week, Jeremy took the 476bhp Nissan GT-R to the Fuji race circuit – to unleash the full power of the GT-R.

“It looks like a discordant mess”, said Jeremy, “But the result is absolute stability.

“It was built to mash your mind in the corners.”

The GT-R was so powerful Jeremy was at pains to describe the experience. “Agony, probably”, Jeremy concluded, just before he injured his neck while cornering.

But when in the hands of Top Gear’s tame racing driver – whose neck “is made from weapons-grade titanium” – the Nissan GT-R scorched the Top Gear test track in one minute 19.7 seconds – faster than a Porsche Carrera GT and a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

Peugeot 308 RCZ

The stunning Peugeot 308 RC-Z is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine producing 218bhp – and proved a hit with James May and Richard Hammond.

The stunning Peugeot 308 RC-Z – which was announced last year – will hit UK streets in 2010 and will cost around £20,000, roughly the same as the new Volkswagen Scirocco.

Renault Megane Coupe Concept

James May wowed the Top Gear audience with the striking Renault Megane Coupe Concept.

James wowed the audience by showcasing the Megane’s unique mobile phone operating system, opening the gullwing doors and switching on the headlights at the touch of the mobile phone button.

Unfortunately however, the Megane concept will “never see production.”

Mercedes-Benz 600 ‘Grosse’

Jeremy’s bought a luxury barge – the Mercedes-Benz 600 ‘Grosse’ – which recently got him into hot water when he was snapped driving while using his phone.

“This was a car used, frankly, by Dictators”, Jeremy said. “People who had access to an airforce.”

Jeremy completed the slalom test in 29 seconds – just two seconds slower than the Hyundai i10 benchmark.

But when comparing service costs, Jeremy’s ‘Grosse’ trumped May’s Roller – his last service bill cost £15,900.

Rolls Royce Corniche Coupe

James May bought an old Rolls Royce Corniche Coupe, which failed the slalom test and broke down in central London as the pair attempted to find a suitable parking spot – with calamitous consequences.
