"My first car was a red 1976 Toyota Corolla Liftback 1600. It had a front end modelled on a '65 Mustang - just like the one in The Blues Brothers. I crashed it," said Richard.
England and LA Galaxy star David Beckham may have owned a Ferrari 575, Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, two Bentley Arnages, a Porsche 911 Turbo, Rolls-Royce Phantom and the retro Aston Martin V8, but his first car was a humble Ford Escort.
“My first car was an Austin Seven Chummy. It was the car which taught me about basic mechanics, about the engine and how cars work. But quite often the brakes didn’t work!"
“It was a Ford Escort Mk I. It was painted a special colour called ‘Silver Fox’ – but it was absolutely horrendous. It was the automotive version of alopecia, and a mobile disaster.”
“The first car I bought was a 1.6-litre Ford Capri when I was 17 from my earnings on Emmerdale Farm. I still remember its registration - JET194W,” says Ross.
Vicki's first car was a million miles away from the supercharged monsters she gets to race on Fifth Gear.
Chris’ first car was a racing green Vauxhall Cresta.
“My first car was a Citroen 2CV, and I used to drive around in a Mini Metro as well,” says Rob.
“My first car was a Hillman Imp…I called it Esmeralda. It was a funny old thing – the engine was in the boot and it was made out of aluminium. Page 1
