And his trail leads him into a crash course with chief villain Dominic Greene – head of an environmental group who is secretly plotting something sinister in Bolivia…
Quantum of Solace has already hit the headlines – earlier this year, a total of SEVEN Aston Martin DBS models were destroyed during the film’s opening chase sequence, and Daniel Craig himself was injured while performing his own stunts, losing a fingertip. “I don’t feel it is easier on this one”, says Daniel, “it feels harder.” The new Bond flick is also the FIRST sequel to appear in the franchise. “We felt we needed to tie up the loose ends from Casino Royale,” explains Daniel. “For me, it’s about creating something that is going to stand alone, but if you put the two films together, you’re going to have an incredible experience because you will see one continuous story.” VIDEO: The Quantum of Solace Royal world premiere: You need Flash Player 8 or higher to view video content with the ROO Flash Player. And what an experience – make no mistake, Quantum of Solace is an action-packed adrenaline-filled ride, with Bond hurtling around in his Aston Martin, clambering across rooftops, leaping off tall buildings, smashing through boats – and even a dogfight in the sky…
“You have to try to get as much rehearsal and stunt training time as possible,” says Daniel. “The sets are complicated and often dangerous so we have got to be on the ball all the time.”
