May Starey and Vijay Pattni bring you some good ol’ fashioned muscle – monster trucks!

This could only come from a country which practically invented ‘super size’ fries…the monster truck.

And let's be honest – we’d all love to get behind the wheel of one of these beauties at some point in our lives.

Probably built to show puny humans what horsepower is really about, the monster truck is as much a symbol of America as McDonalds, Corvettes and big guns.

The craze for modifying pick-up trucks kicked off in America in the late 1970s as competitions for truck-pulling began to take off. Owners reportedly began making their trucks taller and taller to compete in ‘mud-bogging’ events.

From there, a gentleman named Bob Chandler and his modified truck named ‘Bigfoot’ crushed cars in an open field – and the monster truck event was born.

And here at Auto Trader we’re big on Monster Trucks, because, well, they’re big trucks innit?
