ET drive home
19 August 2009
Tom Webster and May Starey take a look at what happened when a Florida car modifying enthusiast decided a road-going spaceship was what he and his family needed.
Mike Vetter clearly decided his Chevrolet Aveo saloon was too boring and needed jazzing up. He was right, but no-one would have expected him to go to the lengths he has.
He is now the proud owner of a unique vehicle he has dubbed the ETV – the Extra Terrestrial Vehicle.
The low slung design means the ETV might look like it’s capable of interstellar travel, but it will surely struggle with the speed bumps around town.
He spent six months transforming the family’s car, and spent $20,000 on materials in the process. Here’s how he did it.
