All-new supercar - the Ferrari 458 Italia
Ferrari has released the first pictures and official details of the Ferrari 458 Italia – its replacement for the F430 supercar.
With the highest-revving engine of any Ferrari road car, and weighing just 1380kgs it takes Ferrari design in an exciting new direction.
Its 4.5-litre V8 produces an incredible 562bhp at 9,000rpm, while 80 per cent of its 398lb/ft of torque is available from just 3,250rpm.

Incredibly light components with low inertia helps the mid-mounted Ferrari V8 engine rev like a superbike motor, despite its large size.
Acceleration from 0-62mph is claimed to take less than 3.4 seconds, while maximum speed is 202mph.
This makes it faster than the ultimate F430 Scuderia, which hits 63mph in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 198mph.
Despite power and performance increases, fuel consumption and emissions have improved to 21mpg on the combined cycle and 320g/km of CO2.

Each design feature of the car has been tested in the wind tunnel, and the model produces 140kg of downforce at 124mph (200km/h).
The Ferrari F458 Italia will have a modified version of the twin-clutch DSG-style gearbox first seen in the Ferrari California, with shifts programmed to be even faster.
Its racing-inspired double wishbone suspension has been developed with the help of the world’s ultimate test driver (and part-time Stig) Michael Schumacher.
Formula 1 influences have also revolutionised the interior, which has the majority of important controls mounted on the steering wheel.
The Ferrari 458 Italia will make its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which starts September 15.
