The super-streamlined turbo-charged Acabion GTBO (above right) is a marvel of modern engineering.

The car's inventor, former Porsche designer Peter Maskus, says the car will accelerate from 0 to 300mph in an eye-watering 30 seconds. To put this into perspective, the 1001bhp Bugatti Veryon takes 55 seconds to reach 253mph.

Faster than the 257mph Ultimate Aero TT, the Acabion uses jet fighter and F1 technology and features a 1300cc engine, has two stabilisers to keep itself steady at lower speeds.

German Mr Maskus said: "It's the future. Our grandchildren will probably laugh at how slow and inefficient cars have been."

The car's makers aim to get the first models on the road in three years.

The Dodge Tomahawk

The four-wheeled Dodge Tomahawk gets from 0-60mph in a spine-bending 2.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 400mph.

Packing the 500bhp V10 engine from the Dodge Viper, the eye-popping machine is technically a 'quadricycle'.

Ray Baumann's Monster Motorbike

Australian Ray Baumann's 14-tonne Monster Motorbike is a car-crushin', nine metre long machine featuring a six-speed lorry engine and two Caterpillar digger wheels.

The retired stuntman uses the vehicle to flatten cars and caravans at motor shows.

Mr Baumann said: "When I used to jump cars I broke a few records and broke my back a few times.

"But this is well and truly dangerous. It could roll if we ran over a car the wrong way, so we have to be very careful."
