That’s exactly what 27-year-old Joel King did this week, setting the new skateboard world land-speed record. The IT worker used a specially-built £7,000 jet-powered board to beat the record on a disused airbase in Mr King said: “I was pretty confident about doing it, but I didn’t want to have a Richard Hammond moment; at those sorts of speeds, just a few inches off the ground, there’s not much room for error if anything goes wrong.”
As far as global warming is concerned, cars have had a pretty bad press. But it seems the focus of global activists is switching to another culprit. A report by the UN concluded raising animals for food creates more greenhouse gases than cars, trucks, planes and ships combined.
