This week:

Double take

Porsche 911 TurboA car thief in Malaysia has attempted to steal the same car not once, but twice.

His first attempt involved walking into a luxury car showroom dressed in a suit and tie, asking for the keys to a Porsche and smashing the car through the dealership's glass windows.

He abandoned the car a short distance away as the fuel tank was empty. The police then recovered the vehicle and towed it to their station.

Not to be outdone, the thief returned with a can of petrol and once again made off with the car.

He was forced to ditch the Porsche a short time later, realising road blocks had been set up to foil his determined crime spree.

Full marks for effort.

ChocolateSwiss chocolates

Suggest this the next time you're pulled over by the traffic police.

Drivers who pass roadside checks in Switzerland are being given chocolate as a reward.

Road cops in the western region of Fribourg are handing out the 100g bars, emblazoned with the force's coat of arms as a 'thank you' to motorists who have their tax, insurance and licence in order.

A bigger boy made me do it

Police lightsMagistrates found Edd Clayson not guilty of driving at 105mph on a motorway after they ruled the police had scared him into it.

The police attempted to pull over the 20-year-old on an unlit stretch of the M3, when they clocked him driving at 84.85mph.

Mr Clayson, who had recently been attacked by another motorist in a road rage incident, initially slowed down and switched lanes, but sped off when he realised the car had switched lanes with him.

The police pulled alongside Mr Clayson, turned on their flashing blue lights and waved at him to pull over.

The nightclub DJ said: "I pulled over straight away when I realised they were police. I was relieved because I feared it was some kind of road-rage driver. An officer got out and I told him I was sorry and started to explain that I had been scared. But he just said 'Let's cut out all the b******t, mate'. I couldn’t believe it."

Weird Pic of the Week

Car park accident

A tricky one to explain to the insurers.

Video: Higher and tyre

This Japanese TV show is great. Just roll a bunch of tyres down a ski jump and bingo - instant entertainment.

And the pay off with the ultra-destructive digger tyre is fantastic.
