IT manager Martyn Gerrard was being driven down the M5 by his boss when he noticed something big and feathery hurtling towards the windscreen. The goose, possibly the victim of a farmer's gun, collided with the Skoda at a combined speed of 100mph. Mr Gerrard's boss Tony Deakin said: "Something smashed through the windscreen and walloped Martyn in the face. I hadn’t a clue what had happened – then I realised there was a dead goose in the car." Hypnosis fan Mr Gerrard put himself into a trance to calm down while Mr Deakin drove them both to hospital, where his passenger was treated for shock. The Pink Parker Special parking spaces for women – ones near exits and under surveillance cameras – are a common sight in Swiss car parks. Trouble some of the male population aren’t playing fair, and are nicking the lady parking spots. The official's solution? Paint the parking spaces pink. Expect to see a 20-stone wig-wearing van driver on a Swiss CCTV camera soon. Aural pecks Every year thousands of people appeal against speeding tickets, giving various reasons - from 'I was drying my bonnet' to 'I was on my way to bribe a traffic officer'. Cab driver John Anthony gave an unusual excuse for being caught speeding at 38mph in a 30mph zone - he was racing back to the taxi rank for fear of being attacked by a violent customer. The 40-year-old driver had to pay £85 to go on a speed awareness course, but is appealing against the decision because he claims the passenger was being aggressive and kicking the back of the seat. Mr Anthony said: "He was threatening to bite my ear off." Weird pic of the week: Yellow brick toad
