Dragon's den A gearstick, a syncro-mesh, cogs… all things you'd expect to find in or around a gearbox.
Firefighters in Chelmsford, Essex, had to free a 12 inch water dragon lizard which had found its way into the inner workings of its owner's car.
The reptile's female owner was scared she would crush her pet if she attempted to drive the car, so called the emergency services.
Essex Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Andy Harding said: "Luckily for us the lizard was tame."
Got to go to an annoying and time-consuming wedding this weekend? Only going because your other half once sat next to the bride on a bus, or something equally tenuous? You could do worse than follow the lead of World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx. Unable to fulfil his best man duties, the 32-year-old driver sent along a life-size cut-out of himself to a pal's wedding in Guernsey. The British driver couldn't make the ceremony as he was taking part in qualifying sessions at Curitiba in Brazil. The cut-out stood at the altar with the happy couple, and the bride even danced with the cardboard best man at the reception. Mr Priaulx also sent a pre-recorded speech on DVD. If it's any consolation he came third.
If you come back to your car and it's moved, you might suspect a family member or friend of 'borrowing' your car keys. But when Worcestershire resident Lisa Williams came back to her car to find it moved, it turned out the culprits were workmen. The workers had picked up Ms Williams' car and moved it 20 feet down the street so they could repaint some double yellow lines. And the 32-year-old claims the car was dented - and wants the council to foot the £200 repair bill. "I'm very angry, it's an amazing thing to do, they could've come back another day or gone out the night before and coned it off." Weird pic of the week:
Who says traffic wardens don't have a sense of humour? This toy car left in a parking space in Lichfield, Staffordshire received a comical parking ticket from a cheeky parking attendant.
