This week:

Look into my eyes, not around the eyes

Fast cars, money, all the licensing opportunities you can eat. Being a celebrity is great. But there's a flipside to fame.

People will stop you in the street. And say things.

TV hypnotist Paul McKenna got a taste of his own medicine when he was stopped by a traffic cop for driving through an amber light.

The policeman chastised the 43-year-old star by reeling off the catchphrases of Little Britain hypnotist Kenny Craig.

Mr McKenna said: "The policeman said: "Look into my eyes, not around the eyes, look into the eyes. You've been a naughty boy and you're not to do that again. What are you?" The frightening thing was I heard myself say back: "I've been a naughty boy and I won’t do it again!"

Transporter problems

If you're going to go on a road-based rampage, choose your vehicle carefully.

Streamrollers are probably right out.

As are car transporters.

One such vehicle was chased by police for 40 miles across two counties.

Taken from Swaffham in Norfolk, the transporter finally came to a halt after smashing through railway barriers and a set of factory gates in Lincolnshire.

The 20-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and traffic offences.

Speed cameraWatching the detectives watching the detectives

It's come to something when cameras are set up to watch cameras.

Speed cameras on the Scottish borders are being vandalised so often the Lothian and Borders Safety Camera partnership are planning to set up CCTV cameras to keep an eye on them.

Seven Gatsos have bitten the dust in three years.

Group spokesman Mr McNeil said: "Every time it happens it is inconvenient, and costly. There are companies there who would provide us with CCTV coverage of the cameras themselves - the cameras looking after the cameras kind of thing."

Weird pic of the week

Attention car geeks. Here’s a picture of BMW’s F1 racer Robert Kubica. But what’s wrong with it?
