This week:

On the rails

Going to a Christmas party? Planning to have a drink or twelve? If you find yourself a bit worse for wear, there are places to catch 40 winks, and places not to catch 40 winks.

Police in Epsom found Kevin Craswell, a 48-year-old former company director, sleeping on railway tracks near the local train station.

British Transport Policeman Keith Board said: "It was truly remarkable that he wasn't struck by a train or fatally electrocuted. The position he collapsed in meant his feet were only a short distance from the live rail.  I've never seen anything like it in all my years of policing."

He may not have done himself in, but full marks for effort.

Toyota Land CruiserFull team ahead

How many people can you fit in the back of a Toyota Land Cruiser? Five? Keep going. Seven? Not even close.

Traffic police stopped a Land Cruiser near Narberth in Wales with an entire school football team inside. Plus substitutes. And their coach. And their kitbags.

None of the team were wearing seatbelts.

Driver Neil Jolly (also the team's coach) was fined £150 and given three penalty points.

Clottery

Steve Moseley' Scratch CardCheck, check and check again.

That's car mechanic Steve Moseley's new motto.

The 36-year-old thought his working days were over as his 24 Karat Gold scratch card (right) revealed a £1 million prize.

Mr Moseley, from Gosport, danced on his desk, threw all the money in his wallet to his colleagues, quit his job and rushed off to buy an Aston Martin.

After 45 minutes of champagne-fuelled celebrations Mr Moseley phoned the National Lottery claims hotline, only to be told to take another look at his card.

He'd mistaken a 16 for a 15.

Take a moment to imagine the expression on his face.

Mr Moseley said: "I went from thinking I'd won a million pounds to having to beg for my job back."

Video: Beautiful model

Some people have too much time on their hands. Thank God.

Ever built a kit model? A Lego car? Your skills are weak compared to Pierre Scerri's.
