This week:

Dog runs woman over

Some dogs bite people, others chew shoes and rip up carpets.

One American dog upped the stakes in the human vs canine battle by running over a woman in her own front garden.

Ranger, a German shepherd, knocked his owner's pick-up truck into gear after it was left with the engine running.

The dog-driven truck knocked over Mary Stone, 41, who was collecting her mail, fracturing her pelvis.

Mrs Stone's husband Paul said: "She had tyre marks on her clothes."

Weird World of WheelsPorsche shafted

Every Porsche owner has a slight wobble whenever they let someone else drive their car.

But there's one Hong Kong mechanic who won't be trusted with anyone's car keys in the near future.

A mechanic at Porsche's only Hong Kong distributor, Jebsen and Company, managed to drive a recently serviced 911 Carrera 4S down a lift shaft (right) at the company's service centre.

The hapless worker accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead on the brake, sending the £83,000 motor to its doom.

The driver was unhurt but complained of pain in his arms.

Weird World of WheelsIs there a doctor in the car?

My doctor's waiting room is pretty nice. There's usually a good selection of lifestyle magazines and it's fairly airy.

But not as airy as Dr Safwan Sweidan's waiting room.

The 47-year-old doctor has converted his Chrysler Sebring into New York's least expensive office (right).

The office-car has a laptop, fax machine, plants, a desk lamp, and an Oriental rug.

Dr Safwan said: "One man called the police because he thought I was watching porn."

Weird World of WheelsSpare us the cutter

If you want to train your kids to do something, make sure it's useful. Send them to law school, buy them a violin.

American Lee 'Hackman' Breton taught his daughter how to saw cars in half.

Daughter Kelly, 22, wowed crowds at a car show in the US recently by sawing a four-door saloon in half in 58.76 seconds.

Starting off in the roof, Kelly bisected the motor just twenty seconds outside her dad's record time.

Mr Breton said: "I'm in trouble."

Still, better than being a traffic warden.
