Wayne Rooney
Mercedes CLK DTM
£200,000 (estimated)

Wayne Rooney loves his motors – he already has a Bentley, Range Rover and Lamborghini in his garage. And, this week the 22-year-old has added a £350k Mercedes CLK DTM to his car collection.

Premiership football ground car parks are notorious for their automotive one-upmanship and this 580bhp super-Mercedes should silence his team mates for a while. Only 100 Mercedes CLK DTM coupes were built, so there’s little chance of one of this team turning up to practice in the same car.

Kylie Minogue
Audi A8
£100,000

Pop star Kylie Minogue recently bought herself a luxurious Audi A8 saloon with £20,000 worth of extras. Massaging and ventilated front and rear seats will be perfect for soothing away aches and pains after an action packed concert, while the 20-inch alloy wheels show off her stylish side.

Christiano Ronaldo
Bugatti Veyron
£875,000

Christiano Ronaldo got to spend time with the Bugatti Veyron filming an advert for Nike, and he even raced against it – on foot. By the end of the day it must have been too hard to resists its pull, because he’s since placed an order for the world’s fastest car. Amazingly, even the Manchester United striker, who earns more than £100k per week, can’t skip the 12-month waiting list, and will no doubt be counting down the hours until his new toy arrives.

The world’s tallest man

The world’s tallest living man, Leonid Stadnik, of the Ukraine, has squeezed himself into a new Chevrolet Tacuma. It was presented to him by Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko outside the presidential office in Kiev.  Leonid was 2.5 meters (8 feet 5 inches) tall when he was declared the world’s tallest man by the Guinness Book of World Records.
