Top deal The Vauxhall Vectra is a venerable saloon which is great at eating up motorway miles and can swallow an entire family. It’s also one of Britain’s favourite company cars, which means there are plenty of nearly new examples flooding on to the used car market. Motorpoint has a 2007 Vauxhall Vectra 1.8-litre petrol with 13,395 miles on the clock on sale at £6,995 – a massive £9,200 saving on its value a year ago. City car Ford is running a promotion on its popular Ford Ka until June 30. You can get your hands on a highly specced Ka Zetec Climate which comes with alloy wheels, roof spoiler, body coloured bumpers, electric and heated door mirrors, heated windscreen, air conditioning, CD player with MP3 socket and remote central locking all for £7,250. It’s very posh for not much dosh. Small car Not many people know you can save heaps of money by ordering a Vauxhall online on the manufacturer’s UK homepage. Even the small Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2 is discounted by a whopping £690 if you order using your mouse. Forget haggling with the dealer for one free tank of petrol – this offer saves you enough to get around 17 fill-ups for free. Family car The Ford Focus is safe, agile and spacious. Motorpoint has several Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi Ghia models with lots of accessories fitted and zero miles on the clock for £12,699 – a reduction of £4,756 – partly thanks to the release of a new model last month. Executive car Buyers of all new four-cylinder engined BMW 3-Series ES and SE saloon and touring models can upgrade to ‘Edition’ spec for £750. This relatively small price premium bags the owner black, silver or graphite metallic paint, a choice of two 17-inch wheel designs, ‘M’ multi-function leather steering wheel, brushed aluminium interior trim and Dakota leather upholstery. Choose the Edition M Sport instead for £1,000 and you also get 18-inch alloy wheels, satellite navigation and Bluetooth communications. MPV The Ford Galaxy is the most searched for MPV on Auto Trader. Using our new car search can save you lots of money. Currently, a 1.8-litre diesel (100bhp) Edge model is available for £16,168 – a saving of £3,327 over Ford’s on-the-road price. 4x4 The Toyota RAV4 is one of the best and most reliable ‘soft-roaders’ and can be a hard car to haggle money off of. Use the Internet and you don’t need to. There is a 2-litre petrol RAV4 XT3 model available on Auto Trader’s new car search for £17,273 – a saving of £1,822 – enough for a family driving holiday. |
