This weekend Goodwood looks back to the 50s and 60s as the Revival comes to town and you really won't have a better time anywhere else.

Dig out your mini skirts and dust off your hipsters, because this weekend the 60s are back in full swing at the Goodwood Revival.

For three days this historic motor racing circuit gives itself back to the golden age of motoring, when Rover, British Leyland and Hillman were the talk of the town and the class system was defined by whether you wore jeans or not!

Post-1966 cars are all but banned from inside the circuit, although special dispensation has been given to a new addition to this year's event, the Earls Court Motor Show. Designed to recreate those classic shows of the 50s and 60s, the spectacular art deco building is packed with some of the finest cars of the era.

Ford, Jaguar, Maserati and Rolls Royce all have stands, however, perched in between the Jaguar E-Type and Ford Prefect are a brand new Ford Fiesta and Jaguar XK-R, which appear under the guise of concept cars.

The Earls Court display also boasts a stunning collection of supercars spanning almost 50-years. Ford's awesome GT40 sits alongside a Lamborghini Miura, while just spitting distance away a Bugatti Veyron faces off against a Koenigsegg CCR - if it weren't for the sunshine, you could be forgiven for thinking that the blistering heat was radiating from this building alone.

Outside is where all the action is and as I wound my way through the heaving crowd it was difficult to know where to look. The immense line up of classic motors are constantly surrounded by folk in traditional 50s and 60s costume. The circuit staff and public are dressed to the nines and it makes for a really special atmosphere you'd be hard pushed to find anywhere else in the world.

The track itself is alive with a staggering £85million worth of machinery and if you think the drivers are going to hold back, think again, there has been a steady procession of squealing tyres, spins and blown engines all day.

Many cars are being piloted by famous names from the world of motorsport, including Stirling Moss, Sir Jack Brabham, Emerson Fitipaldi and Sir Jackie Stewart and after a stroll around the paddock it's difficult to tell which is the more precious, the cars or the drivers.

If you can tear yourself away from the track action, there's plenty to do elsewhere. There's a traditional fairground, stalls selling everything from vintage clothing, motoring prints and books, while over the road there's an amazing array of classic and modern cars in the brilliant Goodwood Car Show.

Every motor manufacturer to have ever sold a car in the UK must be represented, as well as a couple that probably haven't. Jaguar, Porsche, Bristol, Alfa Romeo, even Toyota, they're all there in one shape, or another and it's easy to get carried away with the awesome line up, but don't hang around in there too long, you'll kick yourself if you miss something inside the circuit.

The Goodwood Revival runs for the entire weekend and you can find more details at www.goodwood.co.uk.
