13 February 2008 We’ve been trawling the web for some classic motoring clips, from the funny to the plain unbelievable. This is what we found… The Audi TTS in action The super-sexy Audi TTS was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in January to the open-mouthed delight of petrolheads. Fitted with a tweaked version of the normal 2-litre engine, the 264bhp Audi TTS is the most powerful production TT ever. With the Inglostadt-based car maker’s awesome semi-automatic gearbox the Audi TTS accelerates from 0-62mph (100kph) in 5.2 seconds and on to an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph. View more more pictures of the Audi TTS Handling matches the speed with the flagship Audi TT featuring four-wheel drive, 18-inch alloys and uprated suspension, brakes and steering to cope with the upped oomph. On sale in the summer, prices for the Audi TTS are expected to be around the £32,000 mark. Check out this great video of the all-new Audi TTS in action now.
Dodge Challenger SRT The Dodge Challenger SRT is one of 2008’s meanest releases. Inspired by the Challenger of old, the modern-day beast still has all the hallmarks of a muscle car such as huge bonnet housing a monster V8 engine. But in ‘the olden days’ American muscle cars wouldn’t steer too well, weren’t overly fast in standard guise and took an age to stop. However, with a 6.1-litre V8 Hemi engine producing a healthy 420bhp, the rear-wheel drive Dodge Challenger SRT accelerates from 0-60mph in a more-than-adequate 4.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 174mph – and features quality Brembo brakes. In the USA, petrolheads can get their hands on the Dodge Challenger for the absolute bargain price of £20,000. Although there are currently no plans to sell the Dodge Challenger SRT in the UK through official dealers, but American Imports have got their hands on six – although four are already pre-ordered. Don’t go thinking they’ll be the same price as a Volkswagen Golf GTi over here – the import price is £49,995. But for a 174mph, über-cool muscle car that’s not a bad deal. Check out what all the fuss is about in this video.
