Kylie Minogue

The diminutive Australian pop-princess first appeared on our screens in Neighbours as grubby mechanic Charlene Robinson.

The international pop star is now one of the most famous female singers in the world, and was recently crowned Elle Magazine’s Woman of the Year.

The pint-sized singer gets chauffeured around in a luxurious Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and was the face behind Ford’s Street Ka advertising campaign.

Struggling scribe Joanne Rowling – now Joanne Murray – shot to fame in 1997 with her debut novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Since then she has become a global superstar, is worth a reputed £545 million and is one of the world’s most powerful celebrities – and the books aren’t bad either. The Harry Potter books have broken records as the fastest-selling novels in history.

But growing up in Gloucestershire, the young Joanne Rowling used to motor around in her friend’s old Ford Anglia – a car which later found fame in her books.

Cheryl Cole

The sexy singer was the first member to be chosen for pop group Girls Aloud after winning the UK talent-search show Popstars: The Rivals.

Along with co-singers Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl has become a global superstar, racking up record sales in excess of 4.2 million in the UK, and had a record-breaking seventeen consecutive Top ten singles in the charts.

But the pop-songstress remains humble – Cheryl has previously said she hasn’t worked hard enough to own a Bentley, settling for a Mercedes ML instead.

The Mercedes ML was the first luxury SUV to feature stability control, and two pre-production models were used in the 1997 film The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

Shakira

The hip-swinging Columbian singer is best known for her raunchy dance moves and catchy pop beats – she has won two Grammy awards, seven Latin Grammy Awards and has sung with superstars Wyclef Jean and Beyonce.

But the star has also turned her hand to cars – last year she teamed up with Spanish carmaker SEAT to produce a special edition SEAT Leon Cupra – the ‘Bare Feet’ edition – to help raise money for charity.

And the special edition Cupra is instantly recognisable as Shakira’s design – it’s coloured in metallic lilac paintwork.

Beyonce Knowles shot to fame as the lead singer of the best-selling girl group of all time – Destiny’s Child.
