Roy Keane – Audi RS6 Quattro Avant Keano is celebrating promotion to the Premier League as Sunderland manager, but his first success came with United – who he captained through its golden period in the late Nineties. Using a tuned twin-turbocharged V8, his 600bhp Audi estate monster rocketed from 0-60mph in just 4.4 seconds, making it one of the fastest wagons on the road.
Gary Neville – Bentley Continental A Bentley once owned by England’s Mr Reliable appeared on Auto Trader in March. The Man United captain’s luxury motor was powered by a 6-litre W12 engine, giving it 552bhp and 479lb/ft of pulling power. This helped shift the 2.4-tonne GT from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds before topping out at 198mph.
David Beckham – GMC Yukon Denali The world’s most famous footballer played more than 250 games for United before he joined Real Madrid in 2003. The midfielder’s American SUV was customised with dark blue Italian leather, a top-of-the-range entertainment system and spinning alloy wheel covers.
Rio Ferdinand – BMW X5 and Jaguar XK8 The central defender was the first owner of the big-selling German SUV. Powered by a 3-litre diesel engine, Ferdinand’s X5 had a top speed of 130mph and was fully-loaded with sat-nav, two TVs, leather seats and privacy glass.
Ferdinand’s 1999 Jaguar XK8 boasts a 4-litre V8 producing 290bhp. Sitting on 20-inch alloys, the Jag accelerates from 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and has a limited top speed of 155mph.
Fabien Barthez – Mercedes S500 The eccentric goalkeeper – who played for the Red Devils between 2000 and 2003 bought the luxury saloon in 2001. While Barthez didn’t win the FA Cup with United, the Frenchman picked up the World Cup in 1998. Powered by 5-litre V8, producing 306bhp, Barthez’s executive German car accelerates from 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds before reaching a limited top speed of 155mph.
Joe Cole – Mercedes S320 Chelsea star Cole’s Mercedes was powered by a 3.2-litre diesel engine. Producing 204bhp, the luxury saloon accelerates from 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 148mph. The midfield maestro had the Merc fitted with 18-inch AMG alloys, sat-nav and a six-CD sound system.
Jimmy Greaves – BMW 745i Greavsie was a prolific striker for Chelsea in the late Fifties banging in more than 120 goals for The Blues. His BMW was fully loaded with extras including a fridge, telephone, TV and DVD player. Using a 4.5-litre V8, the executive saloon accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.3 seconds and has a limited top speed of 155mph.
