25 December 2007 Footballers David Beckham x 3 Auto Trader has had three cars previously owned by the world’s most famous sportsman David Beckham for sale this year. Two of Beckham’s old motors were American (a Ford F150 pick-up and GMC Yukon Denali) and a GermanMercedes S500, which was promptly snapped up. Steven Gerrard x 2 Two cars once belonging to Beckham’s Wayne Rooney Manchester United star Wayne Rooney is famous for his love of cars, with the 22-year-old previously counting Aston Martins, Lamborghinis and Bentley among his car stable. But he’s also owned a few more humble cars including a Ford Ka and a Mini GP. The latter, a 150mph pocket rocket, is for sale on Auto Trader at the moment for £19,495. Robbie Savage As one of football’s most colourful characters, you’d expect Robbie Savage to have an exotic car. Earlier this year we featured his 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago E-Gear, a £182,000, 205mph supercar which was promptly snapped up for £159,995. Savage once commented “I’m quite modest, that’s why I bought the black one.” Musicians Roger Daltrey As the lead singer of legendary outfit The Who, Roger Daltrey is a fully-fledged rock star. And like a lot of rock stars, he’s owned a brilliant Ferrari. Daltrey was the first owner of a vintage 1973 Ferrari Dino which has a top speed of 146mph – less than a Honda Civic Type R. And at £100,000 it’s significantly more expensive than the Japanese hatchback. But it’s one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever and was one of just 1,200 ever built. Other Ferraris previously owned by rock stars to appear on Auto Trader over the past 12 months include: Rod Stewart’s Ferrari 575 Maranello Royalty Auto Trader is also the place to find cars with a royal past. And the cars and their owners aren’t what you’re expecting to see. We had the King of Jordan’s 1990 Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth, a 150mph super-saloon on the market for £12,800. We also found a Mercedes VIP Meeting Vehicle which the Sultan of Brunei previously owned from on the site for £82,250. Other massive stars Jeremy Clarkson Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson loved the Ford Escort RS Cosworth so much he bought himself one. That same Cossie – which he named Rowan Atkinson British comedy legend Rowan Atkinson is almost as famous for his love of cars as he is for his role in Blackadder. An old Aston Martin Virage owned by the Mr Bean star found itself on Auto Trader in September. The rare 1998 Aston has 330bhp and a top speed of 158mph. Madonna Auto Trader had earlier featured a BMW M5 previously owned by film director Guy Ritchie so we weren’t expecting to see a BMW 7-Series which once belonged to wife Madonna appear in the same year. The Material Girl’s 2002 Beemer – which cost £61,000 new – featured 19-inch alloys and had a top speed of 155mph was on the market for £15,995. Mel C Spice Girl Mel C – who is currently on a world tour with Posh and co – was the first owner of a humble Audi A3 which we featured in October. |
