Corvette Z06 No-one’s better than the Americans when it comes to fitting a massive engine to a sports car. With the ZO6, Corvette has stuck a 7-litre lump under the bonnet, producing 505bhp and 470lb/ft of pulling power. This means the tail-happy Ultima Can Am The little-known Can Am (pictured below) packs a heavyweight punch. With a 6.3-litre V8 producing 540bhp, the English supercar rockets from 0-60mph in less than four seconds and runs out of steam just past the 200mph mark. Inside, you’ll find leather seats, climate control, a CD player and that’s about all – but who cares when you can get a Lambo-bashing British brute for £50,000?
BMW M5 This barnstorming brute from
Dodge Ram SRT-10 Forget about the Hummer, this is the ultimate Yank tank. This four-door pick-up truck packs 500bhp in its 8.3-litre V10. This means the 6.5-metre long, 3.5 tonne monster accelerates from 0-60mph in 5.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 168mph. Totally pointless, but brilliant – you can pick one up in Auto Trader for £35,000.
Nissan Skyline While the standard R34 Skyline might only produce 280bhp standard it’s a massive hit in the modifying world. The octane-brained modders fit sporty exhausts, air filters, intercoolers, tweak the engine’s computer and stick on a massive turbo. The result: a 500bhp Japanese titan, knocking on the door of 200mph (but save these speeds for the track). And you can find one on Auto Trader for £15,000.
