This week we've been giving advice about learning to drive. It's something all motorists go through – even the stars of stage and screen.

We asked some of them how they started their motoring careers.

Vicki Butler-Henderson

How old were you when you learnt to drive?

17

Did you pass your test first time?

Yes – one month after my 17th birthday

What did you learn in?

An MG Metro.

Any hair-raising moments?

No, I was just keen as mustard to get out and start driving my friends around. If you had a car at school you were uber-cool.

Have you taught anyone to drive?

No, but I've taught hundreds of people to race!

Did you pass your test first time?

No, second time.

What did you learn in?

A Nissan Micra.

Any hair-raising moments?

I failed the first test for constant speeding. In Guildford.

Have you taught anyone to drive?

No, but I've taught a few people to race. I'd be terrible as a driving instructor because I'm the worst backseat driver in the world!

No, it was pretty smooth – I'd been riding bikes since I was 13.

Have you taught anyone to drive?

Not yet – I won’t let them near my cars! I'll probably give my kids a few lessons when they're old enough.

Have you taught anyone to drive?

No, but bearing in mind I've picked up a few bad habits driving the Cortina in Life on Mars, so it's probably not a good idea.
