LA Motor Show: 600bhp Dodge Viper breaks cover
04 December 2009
The new Dodge Viper SRT10 has been unveiled at the 2009 Los Angeles motor show.
And this is one ‘cottonmouth’ you don’t want to rub up the wrong way – because it houses an 8.4-litre V10 engine producing an epic 600bhp.

The 2010 Viper does the 0-62mph sprint in less than four seconds, hits the all-important drag-racing quarter mile in 11 seconds and maxes out at 202mph.
The run-out model of one of the most famous American muscle cars gets a new wing panel, a short-throw gearshift and a range of exclusive colours, including bright orange.
And to go out with a big bang – via the nearest tree or roundabout – Dodge has announced a number of special edition Vipers to commemorate its most famous product.
The first of these is the Dodge Viper ACR 1:33 edition, celebrating the Viper’s famous lap time around Mazda’s iconic Leguna Seca racetrack, which took the production car record.
The ACR 1:33 gets a two-tone black/red clear coat paintjob, piano black interior trim panels and red stitching inside. Just 33 versions will be made, and Dodge will make ten ‘Voodoo’ edition Vipers, which are all black with a grey stripe along the sides.
Other big names making waves at the Los Angeles motor show is the sensational Audi E-Tron electric car concept, the BMW VisionDynamics Hybrid supercar, the Volkswagen Up! Light concept, and the world’s most expensive Lexus: the £336,000 Lexus LF-A.
