Learning to drive: Claiming a pass

Contact the DVLA Get in touch with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) to claim your license. As detailed in our theory and practical test guide, you only need to do this if you didn’t opt to have your license automatically issued by your examiner. You’ll need your provisional license and pass certificate in order to collect your driving license. It’s free, and you have two years from the date of your practical exam to do this – any longer and you’ll have to take the theory and practical tests again. What you need to do 1. Sign the test pass certificate declaration. What happens next? The DVLA should return your final driving license within three weeks of receiving your pass certificate and provisional license.
