Eighties Volkswagen gets destroyed

Earlier this year the electric G-Wiz was crash tested by Top Gear. The motor was mutilated and Jeremy Clarkson called for the car to be banned.

However, the G-Wiz’s results were an automotive anomaly, with most modern vehicles now stacked with safety features.

But in the Seventies and Eighties, scary results were the norm.  Watch this Volkswagen get destroyed. The concrete is thicker than normal and the VW is travelling fairly quickly, but the results are still alarming.

Today, all new Volkswagens boast excellent scores.

Now compare the Eighties Volkswagen to the Nissan Qashqai, which was recently awarded five stars in the EuroNCAP crash test.
