Mazda is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its famous rotary engine.

It was invented by German engineer Felix Wankel (no sniggering at the back...).

Since 1967, almost two million rotary-powered Mazdas have rolled off the production line in a series of brilliant cars.

From the first Cosmo Sport to the amazing Le Mans winning 787B, drivers have been thrilled by the performance from the Japanese car maker.
