Captain America comes to Goodwood

Hollywood legend Peter Fonda will be attending this year’s Festival of Speed at Goodwood– riding Captain
Famous motorcycles and world-class riders have become an integral part of the event for all motor sport fans.
To celebrate the main Festival theme there will be a selection of world-beating endurance racing machinery – expect to see the 1971 Bol d’or winning Triumph Trident, 1984 Team Bike Honda VF750 which took class honours at Le Mans and 1998 World Endurance Championship winning Phase One Suzuki GSX-R750 SRAD, as well as a selection of other famous endurance racing machines such as 1981 Meyer-Honda and 1986 Ducati 750 F1.
As part of the celebration of 60 years of Motorcycle Grand Prix, Goodwood will gather together one of the largest collections of significant machinery and famous riders ever seen.
Check out the AJS Porcupine that won the first 500cc championship, early Italian exotica such as the ex-Geoff Duke Gilera 500GP and ex-Phil Read MV Agusta 500, fire-breathing two-strokes from the Japanese manufacturers, such as the ex-Johnny Cecotto Yamaha OW45, ex-Freddie Spencer Honda RS500 and ex-Takazumi Katayama Yamaha YSK33, through to four stroke monsters such as the ex-Loris Capirossi Ducati GP3 ‘Desmosedici’ and ex-Alex Hoffman Kawasaki ZXRR.
To celebrate the World Superbike Championship series new found wealth of talent, Goodwood will gather together a comprehensive selection of race teams and title contenders.
BMW Motorrad Motorsport, Kawasaki World Superbike R.T, Suzuki Alstare Brux and Ten Kate Honda are all set to attend. Factory riders such as Troy Corser, Broc Parkes, Yukio Kagayama, Jonathon Rea, Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow – as well as stars from other walks of motorcycle racing such as Phil Read, Mick Doohan and Troy Bayliss – are all expected to make an appearance.
