Midlands-based musician Fredie Woodley was so thrilled with his new wheels that they provided the inspiration for his band’s debut album.
The guitarist of the Road-Kings – the band name was also inspired by an iconic Harley-Davidson motorcycle – co-wrote and co-produced Dust and Gasoline with Jon Dewsbury and Brad Henshaw in celebration of his new custom-built Harley-Davidson FLSTF Fat Boy.
Fredie bought the motorcycle from Stratstone Harley-Davidson in
"The paintwork was my idea for the blues album that I was working on at the time," says Fredie. "I just wanted to combine Harley-Davidson, Gibson Les Paul and blues as one."
The result is a mix of soulful, enigmatic vocals and thought-provoking lyrics containing many references to the band’s favourite American motorcycle brand. Launched last week at the Robin 2 in Bilston, the album was a huge hit with the 200-strong crowd.
