Foggy joins Ducati TT parade

03 June 2008
News image Ducati legend Carl Fogarty will join Ducati’s 50th anniversary TT celebrations and ride a Desmosedici RR in the Ducati parade lap at this year’s Isle of Man TT.

The 200hp Desmosedici, a road-going replica of the Ducati Corse Grand Prix racing Desmosedici GP6, has been loaned by Steve Moore of Winchester motorcycle dealer Moto Rapido.

It is only one of a handful currently in the country, but despite its exclusivity (one of only 175 expected in the UK) and its £40,000 price tag, Moore regularly uses it to commute to work along the M3.

However on 6 June ex- World Champion and TT hero Foggy will be riding the RR around the famous 37.75 mile mountain course in front of thousands of fans.

Carl Fogarty will be in good company as he will be joined by such luminaries as Sammy Miller, who rode one of the first Ducati motorcycles to race at the TT in 1958, Paul Smart, Tony Rutter, Trevor Nation, Jamie Whitham, Ian Simpson and son of ‘Mike the Bike’, Dave Hailwood.

The parade lap will start from the famous start-finish line in front of the grandstand on Glencrutchery Road at 10.45am on Friday 6 June prior to the start of the prestigious Senior TT race.
