Buell reveals 1125CR Streetfighter

01 August 2008
Reviews image Buell brings a new weapon to the streets for 2009 with the introduction of the 1125CR, a striking new model featuring a 21st century take on the Cafe Racer genre and the brute power and torque of the Helicon 1125 liquid-cooled V-Twin engine. The 1125CR is one of seven 2009 Buell Sportbike, Street and Adventure Sportbike models.

“The 1125CR is my vision of a contemporary cafe racer,” says Erik Buell, Chairman and Chief Technical Officer at Buell Motorcycle Company. “It’s got Clubman-style bars, and a flyscreen instead of a fairing. Then we geared it down to give the Helicon engine even more grunt. If torque rules the street, the 1125CR will be the new boss.”

The 146hp, liquid-cooled 1125cc V-Twin and Buell Intuitive Response Chassis (IRC) deliver spirited, sophisticated sport performance. A longer swingarm and lower final-drive gearing help maximise acceleration

All 2009 Buell models will be fitted with a new, more durable Veyance Hibrex drive belt, the same belt that was originally developed for the Buell 1125R.
