Offering riders a cool and convenient alternative to conventional back protectors, the Knox Fastback has been updated for 2009. Based on the KISS design principle (Keep It Simple Stupid) the FastBack is a mesh waistcoat with a full-length CE-approved back protector. Fastened by a central zipper and held firmly in place with a dual fastening Velcro waist belt, the FastBack can be put on and adjusted to fit in seconds. Manufactured from ultra-strong sport mesh for durability, there are stretch mesh side panels and elastic trim over the arm holes for a comfortable fit all day long. Not only does the flexible back protector exceed the tough new EN1621-2 standard (Level 1) with energy transmission of just 10Kn (44% within the 18Kn permitted) it also has a Venturi cooling system, a series of flues that draw hot air up and away from the body. Knox have even designed the FastBack so that the back plate is removable, so that you can wash the vest separately.
