KEEWAY has announced its developing a 600cc naked bike due for release this year.

Only one picture has been released (see above) but Keeway has said the RK6 will have similar styling to the RKV125 which is currently on sale in the UK for just £1,899. The RK6 has clearly been sharpened up to reflect the boost in capacity to 600cc.

The RK6 will have a 599cc four-cylinder, DOHC liquid-cooled motor pumping out around 88bhp which puts it up against the likes of Yamaha’s XJ6 and Kawasaki’s ER-6. Keeway has said that the RK6 will be considerably cheaper than these machines; priced at around £4000, the idea being to tempt training school owners to replace their current 600cc fleets with a machine that’s cheaper but has style and good looks to attract new riders. The RK6 may well just make a nice first big bike or for those looking for a punchy way to commute but keep that initial outlay for the bike as low as possible.

And if this naked is successful in sales we may well see a faired version appear later on too.
