Looking for a green solution to urban transport? Check out the Vectrix electric maxi-scooter. Nothing else comes close in the eco warrior stakes. According to the European Union's Cleaner Drive rating the Vectrix has the lowest environmental impact of any comparable vehicle, car or motorcycle. That’s an unbeatable Og / km when charged from a green tariff, and just 14g / km from a brown tariff. The Vectrix has been designed by former US Air Force engineers. This award-winning green machine is the first electric vehicle to match or exceed the performance of comparable petrol scooters. Capable of 0-50 in 6.8 seconds, and a top speed of 62mph, the Vectrix has a range of up to 68 miles on a single charge. Quality components include Brembo brakes, Marzocchi forks and Sachs shocks. Its patented DAart throttle technology directs the energy generated during braking back into the battery pack, extending the overall range by up to 12%. The Vectrix maxi-scooter has a low centre of gravity making it easy to manoeuvre on the move and at low speeds. Low maintenance and running costs mean the overall cost of ownership is much less than comparable petrol engined scooters or motorcycles. You can recharge from a standard three-pin socket in just two hours. Battery life is estimated at 10 years, based on an annual 5,000 miles per year. As an electric vehicle the Vectrix is exempt from road tax and congestion charges. Founded in 1996, Vectrix is based in Middletown, Rhode Island in the US of A and has a modem production facility in Wroclaw, Poland, and an engineering and test facility in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The maxi-scooter is classified as a 125 so anyone with a CBT licence (or a full car licence for more than five years) can ride one. Oh, and the multi-function throttle has a slow-speed reverse for even easier parking. Unbelievably quiet, green as an Amazonian jungle and packed with the latest technology... what better way to get to work? Page 1 |
