JCB is the largest manufacturer of construction equipment in all of Europe, with manufacturing plants on four continents around the world.

“Backhoe loader” is the industry name for diggers, first used by JCB in 1953. Now, the name is used by manufacturers across the world.

JCB first unveiled their JCB Loadall Machine in 1978, weighing 11,090 kgs in total.

JCB created the Fastrac, which was the first and still the only high speed tractor. It can reach speeds of 40mph on the road and has won many awards.

JCB has been awarded many times over the years, including 15 Queens’ Awards for Technology and Export achievement.

Sir Anthony was born on the first day that the founder (his father) created JCB, meaning that they both share a birthday.

The founder, Mr JCB, was employing 6 people by 1948, and those six developed Europe’s first Hydraulic Tipping Trailer, which became the company’s first major commercial hit.

The original JCB backhoe loader, released in 1953, was the very first vehicle to carry the company’s iconic logo.

Every single machine created by JCB undergoes 400 different quality checks before it can be sold.
10.
JCBs have appeared in several songs, including the “JCB Song” by the band Nizlopi, which became a UK Christmas No.1 in 2006.
