Holidaying with a camper is the ideal choice for those that want something a little more manageable than a motorhome, or need a vehicle for everyday use in the off-season.
Whether you’re in search of VW campervans for sale or looking for an alternative to turn heads on the road and pitch, here are a few options well worthy of consideration.

1. VW Transporter campervan

You know what you get with a VW conversion. However, Shrewsbury-based Bodans bring luxury four-berth brilliance like little others, all fitted to a base model that’s steeped in peace of mind on the road and on pitch. If the 2023 T6.1 Transporter Starline 2.0TDI 110 PS doesn’t inspire enough confidence in itself, know that it’s backed by a comprehensive three-year warranty, mirroring the manufacturer’s warranty itself.
The subtle styling here belies its perfect practicality and incredible atmosphere. Quality cabinetry and up to five passenger and driver seat combinations make for a lovely place to live. There are also plenty of added extras for you to choose from, such as a Fiamma F45 wind-out awning, a tailgate bike rack, or additional colour schemes inside and out. What’s more, the Reimo elevating roof compartment – penthouse, if you will – offers another level of excitement for the kids when it comes to settling in for the night. Don’t worry, though, it’s suitable for adults, too. Find a VW Transporter campervan here.

2. Renault Trafic campervan

Whether it’s a conversion or a manufacturer partnership, you’ll find plenty of new and used Renault Trafic campervans for sale on the market at prices to suit any budget. Often overlooked, the Trafic is an incredibly versatile vehicle both in preference and performance options, with everything from vintage projects to a new pride and joy up for grabs at the end of a simple search.
Launched at 2022’s Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, the Bürstner Playa Limited Edition brought compact caravanning and easy handling in abundance, all as part of an enticing collaboration with Renault. Flexibility in layouts thanks to a rail system make it suitable for and accessible to almost every need, while additional comfort and entertainment features came in the form of a cooled glove box, entertainment essentials, and sat-nav. Figure out your essentials and you’re sure to discover a Trafic treat on the market for a decent price. Find a Renault Trafic here.

3. Swift Monza campervan

Based on a Ford Tourneo Custom Titanium, the six-speed manual 2.0TDCi Ford EcoBlue 130PS engine of Swift’s Monza campervan is complemented by a packed list of comfort and convenience features.
On the outside, it not only looks more striking than your typical camper, but trick touches include app-controlled remote locking and security features that offer you peace of mind when parked up on holiday or at home. Love an active lifestyle? Whether you’re in the puddles with the pooch or sand-covered from a surf, the external shower is ideal for a wash down afterwards. When you’re clean and dry, the external barbecue point is the perfect option for a refuel after a hard day’s adventuring. If you like to stand out or fancy something a little different, Swift is offering a choice of four finishes for campervan creativity. It’s available in diffused silver, chrome blue, organe glow, or magnetic grey. Find a Swift Monza here.

4. Globe-Traveller Voyager Z

Still new to the UK, Polish independent Globe-Traveller is making big waves, with the Voyager Z winning Campervan of the Year 2023, judged by experts at Campervan, What Motorhome, and MMM magazines.
It may not wow in the style stakes on the outside, but inside this is impressive both in aesthetics and practicality, with clever uses of space in its design. There’s even a separate shower, and plenty of storage, all in the 636cm long campervan. Four seats for the four berths offer comfort and convenience on the road or on the pitch, while weather worries are a thing of the past as the Z offers insulation aplenty and a double floor under the entire habitation area. 5. Opus camper

Left-field option alert! While this isn’t a campervan per se, the Opus camper offers unparalleled style and sought-after space benefits in the smallest of packages. It’s somewhere between a camper and a caravan, but it can be set up in minutes and even includes its own optional cinema screen.
So how does it work? Pull up on-site, unhitch, and engage the corner steady supports. Unclip the roof lids from the compact boxing, and unfold. Press a button to start the air beam tent tech inflation, and that’s it! The rest is down to personal preference and setting up your living space for loving every holiday. Contained within you’ll find fixed double beds, a lounge and living area that’s flooded with natural light and LED lighting, a double gas burner hob, stainless steel sink, and three-way fridge, along with plenty of storage space. You also get the exterior options of graphite grey, sunset orange, sea salt blue, or olive green colour schemes. This is seriously cool. Find a Opus camper here.
