Although running costs can be cheaper many buyers considering the switch from combustion engines to electric still find higher upfront purchase prices an obstacle. Keen to make it easier Vauxhall has been looking at ways to make the electric version of its popular Corsa just that bit more accessible.
To that end Vauxhall introduced an Electric version to the entry-level Design trim for last year’s update of the range, where with the previous Corsa-e this was only available on more expensive models. This and initiatives like longer, five-year finance packages to help spread the cost have helped make that entry price look a little more attainable, something a new YES Edition hopes to improve further.
In petrol form the YES Edition costs just £18,505, making it the most affordable car in the whole Vauxhall range. Meanwhile the electric version of the YES Edition starts at £26,895, which is still a chunk more but over £5,000 less than the starting price of the Corsa Electric Design that was, until now, the cheapest electric model in the range.
Based on the 136 horsepower version of the Corsa Electric, the YES Edition includes some trimmings from the fancier GS grade, with a two-tone Record Red with black roof combination coming as standard. White, black or grey are also available at no extra cost. You also get some YES Edition branding inside, red accents on the seats and the paired digital instrument cluster and central touch-screen is now standard on both petrol and electric versions.
