  • Good initial impressions, after sales questionable

    Found a car at Burrows (100 miles away) for a very good price, communication with the salesman was good and on the day of the purchase the salesman was kind enough to pick me up from the train station. At the showroom, the car was presented well as it had just been valeted and was happy to proceed with the purchase. Only one key was supplied but was told they would send me a replacement spare (four months on and still no sign and no response through email). While sorting out the paperwork and finances, 'gap insurance' was mentioned, £299 for three years. First time I heard about it after the salesman didn't realise he forgot to send to information to me. As the car was a Mazda approved used car, there are benefits such as 7 Day Driveaway Insurance. I assumed I would be insured to drive it home, but no. I needed to request a quote rather than be asked to receive a quote, so I was driving for 20 mins without insurance. So not sure about the other six benefits they 'offer'.

  • OK but could have been beter

    The purchase element of my transaction was favourably comparable with others I have experienced, many of my purchases have been from Fords of Winsford and their service has always been excellent. However, the valeting of the car was not to previously experienced standards, for example the internal widows were covered in a film indicating they had not been cleaned. Also there was a noticeable odour in the car that went once I had cleaned the carpets. The main issue was the fact that the front windscreen washer jets barely reached the windscreen, clearly this had not been checked when the pre-delivery service was carried out, which makes me wonder if anything else was missed.... I now have to resolve this issue myself - at cost... Overall assessment was not poor but was less than average, but I can't score 2.5..
