  • Buy service package or we're not interested

    Having bought from Motherwell for years and having bought nearly new cars. I'm never again. After having problems. firstly buying a four month old car and failing within weeks due to A/C or heating switch problem that required removing the full dashboard to repair. Secondly buying a another car and once again failing because it wouldn't start. Service manager told me it would be returned to the manufacturer. This was not the case. They put replaced the battery and left it over the weekend. Two months later my doors stated failing to open. After complaining again. I was told I had to go through the manufacturer warranty by the service department, even though I still had warranty.After speaking to "a" manager, even though I was asking for the branch manager. I was given conflicting information, as I was told it had to go back to the manufacturer as it would void my manufacturer warranty if they repaired at Motherwell. Conflicting stories from all departments. Never again.

    I purchased a car at the end of June that was due in the next week to have parking sensors fitted. A few days into taking the car I realised the start/stop function did not work. The salesmen tried to convince me it was working but reluctantly put me though to the service department to book it in for repair. It took a month to arrange a date due to courtest cars but it has now been fixed. However they had to transport it across the city to do so and never replenished the fuel despite telling me I had to give the courtesy car back with the same amount as I got. The week after I bought the car it went back in to get parking sensors fitted which have been put in the wrong place meaning they don't work. The second time it went back ( to check the start/stop again) they replaced the sensors saying they were faulty. I have now sourced the manual showing that the sensors are not in the right place, but they insist they are and are now trying to bodge a solution. Terrible!
