BMW are just not reliable anymore
My 2nd BMW 3 Series and once again another total gearbox failure. First car lost reverse gear and cost £1600 to fix. Current car is only 4years old and out-of warranty by 12 months but im left with a bill for £2600. I will never buy another BMW again. Customer service is terrible My car is currently with an automatic gearbox specialist Total stripdown down required - cost £2600. However apart from paying me lip service the chance of getting any compensation for selling me another unreliable banger are slim. Apparently I missed a service (oil change) which invalidates any goodwill. The fact this was end March when we were in total lockdown cut no ice with the customer service agent I spoke to. Cars are brilliant to drive but have been hopelessly unreliable and mega expensive to repair.
