The Trader Media Group Charity Committee

We encourage our employees to get involved with the community and support Trader Media Group's community relation initiatives.

Our people across the UK and Ireland support local and national charities, to ensure we’re supporting causes which matter most and other organisations as well as our main charity partner.

We match funds raised by our employees in our local business communities, and give donations such as PCs, furniture and other equipment. We also allow community groups to use our facilities to help run their organisations.

Charity of the Year

Trader Media Group is continuing its partnership with Samaritans for 2007-08.

The partnership will help Samaritans reach a greater number of people through magazines, exhibitions and new media – hopefully saving more lives in the process.

One of the partnership’s main aims is to reduce suicide and distress amongst young men, while making the use of an emotional health helpline more accessible.

Samaritans received 4.8 million contacts last year. To read more about our charity of the year visit our Samaritans page.

We are very excited about this partnership with Samaritans, and we hope it will allow the charity to help more people.
John King, CEO of Trader Media

Trader Media Group Principles

1. To focus on charities working closely with young people in need.

2. To work with a national charity which has regional offices near ours for staff to engage locally.

3. To encourage and motivate employees to volunteer for our charity partners by providing training and materials.

The Charity Aid Foundation awarded Trader Media Group with a Bronze Award in June 2007 for our success in the Give As You Earn scheme, which allows employees to donate money from their pre-tax pay.

Trader Media Group is a member of the London Benchmarking Group (LBG). LBG aims to help its members measure their Corporate Community Investment (CCI) as accurately as possible.
