BMW-Sauber still in the dark
Tuesday 24th November 2009
Mario Theissen is still unsure about whether the BMW-Sauber team will have a place on next year's grid. Days before announcing their withdrawal from F1, BMW failed to sign the new Concorde Agreement, meaning the team and its new owners, Qadbak, were not guaranteed a place on the 2010 grid. However, Toyota's decision to leave the sport meant a place has now opened up. BMW, though, have yet to learn whether the FIA will allow them to take it. "The situation has not changed," Theissen told Autosport. "The team still does not have a grid slot. We expect to get one, but it is not done yet. Obviously the delay makes it difficult for negotiations with drivers and sponsors."
