Although we aim to block all known canvassers, we cannot guarantee this. We will regularly update our Telesafe service with the details of known canvassers. However, if we are unaware of the canvasser or do not hold the relevant details, we cannot block them.

Customer wishing to report details of canvassers should call our Customer Services Team on 0845 345 3450 or e mail the details to enquiries@autotrader.co.uk with the time and date you were called, the number you were called from, the name of the organisation contacting you and your advert reference or vehicle registration number.

We provide the Telesafe numbers solely for use on Auto Trader adverts.

Telesafe numbers will remain active throughout the duration of the advert. We have also incorporated a ‘grace period’ after the advert expiry to allow for further responses to adverts.

We reserve the right to revise the grace period at any time and without notice.

Where the callers use an alternative operator to make the call to a Telesafe Number the call will be charged at that operator's rate for calls to personal numbering services.

The cost of calling a Telesafe Number from a mobile phone varies depending on the mobile operator the call is being made through. Callers are encouraged to confirm with their mobile operator the charge for calling a Telesafe Number (Telesafe Numbers are those with the prefix 070 or 087). Mobile operators are obliged to make their call charges readily available to their customers.

On the rare occasion we are unable to provide the Telesafe service, Trader Media Group reserve the right to publish the seller’s private telephone number(s) online and in print.

Telesafe is designed to prevent known canvassers from contacting sellers. Telesafe is not provided to withhold a seller’s private telephone number for security purposes.

Telesafe is a free service available to Auto Trader advertisers.
