We have never had a report from a customer of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card as a result of order's placed on our site. Our secure-server software encrypts all personal information submitted, including credit or debit card number and name and address.
The encryption process converts the information you enter into code that is then securely transmitted over the Internet. In the event of unauthorised use of your credit or debit card, please contact your card provider.

All credit card details are passed over a secure connection. We never pass credit card details over insecure connections such as emails. All credit card details are stored in secure databases.
Auto Trader participates in the Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode schemes. This ensures that the no one can use your card fraudulently on our site by prompting you for a password that you have registered with your card issuer. If you are registered with Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode an advert will not be able to be placed without entering your password.
