New car sales up 11.5% in April
New car registrations were up 11.5 per cent in April compared to the same month last year. According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), this was the tenth consecutive monthly increase. Despite the scrappage scheme coming to an end in March, cars bought under the scheme were still being registered in April and accounted for eight per cent of the 148,793 units registered in the UK last month.

74mpg Peugeot 207 announced
Peugeot has today announced details of its greenest hatchback ever - the Peugeot 207 Economique. It achieves a combined fuel economy of 74.3mpg and emits 99g/km of CO2, making it exempt from road tax. Two variants of the green Peugeot 207 will be available in both three-door and five-door guises - the Economique and the Economique-plus.
