it still does 48 mpg even with my heavy size 11 over the right pedal
VAUXHALL VECTRA 1.9 CDTi Design 5dr (Review date: 29th November '10)
My Vectra is the 1.9cdti I use it everyday to go to work about 40 miles per day between the motorway and A roads. I find it drives very well on both, it cruises quietly and comfortably on the motorway and can be quite nimble on the A road - it does under steer every now and again though. However it still does 48 mpg even with my heavy size 11 over the right pedal. The Vectra has a generous sized boot and just enough room in the back for three (probably not for long journeys though) the majority of the time its comfy to drive unless your on a bumpy road - the suspension is a bit stiff. I've only had one problem with it when the EGR valve decided to give up but only cost about £150 to replace so not the end of the world. Overall its reliable, fuel efficient, comfortable and even fun to drive.
VAUXHALL VECTRA 2.8 T V6 VXR 5dr (Review date: 29th November '10)
I have owned most of Vauxhall,s sports machines , i.e. SRI,s 2.0 and 2.5 also GSI,s 2.5 and 3.2 , but this VXR Vectra is undoubtly the best , absolutely mind blowing acceleration , amazing power for a front wheel drive . A very attractive ,very fast, sure footed, comfortable car to drive, with a superb natural exhaust note .The VXR turns more heads than most similar performance cars. A true sports saloon at a very reasonable price.
This really is a grand touring car , a joy to drive on motorways , A and B roads , returning an acceptable 25mpg for exceptional performance , not suited for town when depending how heavy your right foot is mpg can be in low/ mid teens. The VXR has given no problems in it,s 21K miles a totally reliable vehicle.
Overall , I am prepared to pay the extra fuel , road tax and Insurance for the pleasure this vehicle provides. All this when most people are down sizing to save fuel / road tax / insurance etc , I would rather pay the extra for the driving experience than be totally bored in a 1/2 litre whatever giving 1000 mpg .
The Vectra is a well known spacious , reliable , comfortable family car , which comes in an array of specifications to cater for all tastes , but for me the VXR is the one .
This is the vehicle a policeman escaped prosecution after being clocked at 159 mph , his excuse was he was test driving his forces new pursuit car. I wonder if this would work for me ?
excellent all round car
VAUXHALL VECTRA 1.9 CDTi SRi [Sat Nav] 5dr (Review date: 29th November '10)
My car is very reliable cheap to run and repair due to parts readily available and user friendly own repair guides. Excellent value for money if you pick one up that is approx 3-4 years old, all mod cons and extras on many models. Plenty of room for kids and shopping which suits my lifestyle really well.
Very good engine, but noisy cabin
VAUXHALL VECTRA 1.9 CDTi SRi [Sat Nav] 5dr (Review date: 29th November '10)
I like the space and adaptability of the space inside, I think the engine is great and when driven carefully is very economical, the ride is a little harsh and the cabin suffers from road noise, I like the layout if the dash and the SatNav is very good compared to others I have used, it's not the best drive but it is enjoyable, overall I would buy another one. The only major problem I have suffered is with the steering, I was let down by the dealer in the time it took them to resolve the issue.

VAUXHALL VECTRA 1.8i VVT SRi [Sat Nav] 5dr (Review date: 28th November '10)
The car is well kitted out with sat nav, cruise control, comfy seats and a good stereo. As a family car you can`t fault it,there is plenty of boot space with ample room for the growing kids. All these features as well as the good build quality and not half decent looks make the car a really good buy on the second hand market.
The engine in the 1.8 SRI is ok but I would think the 2.2 petrol or the more torquey diesel would be the better power to weight ratio options, the Insurance doesn`t break the bank either. So on the whole an excellent car for the money. Having owned an Audi ,Mercs and Volvos all of which were lovely cars with great punchy engines and well layed out comfy interiors , I feel the Vectra isn`t a million miles away from their quality.
VAUXHALL VECTRA 2.0 T SRi 5dr (Review date: 28th November '10)
I have owned the vectra for 3 yrs and it has never missed a beat diseptiveley fast excelent engine would buy another
the car had done 7000mls when i bought it and 32000mls when i traded it in for replacement during which time it averaged 31.7 mpg
the only down side for me was the tire noise from the 19in wheels which were an option on the SRI But they did look fantastic
The insurance is reasonable Group 12 I think
Good handlng quiet sporty

As a sales agent for the RAC I have to carry around a promotional stand, couple of 'A' boards etc. So the main aim was basically, to buy a good looking lump of a car. The Vauxhall SRi seemed to fit this description. At 6ft 2in i needed to be comfortable on a decent run and get a decent mpg. The budget wouldnt stretch to a diesel so i went for the 1.8 vvti. For the size of car and the weight it carries (equipment not me) it delivers a combined mpg of 39.2, which i find fantastic as my previous citroen c5 hdi only delivered 37.9mpg. The car itself is a lot sportier ride than i was expecting so has proven to be very agile on the shorter 'b' roads, as well as quite relaxing on a long run. Everything works as it should and have had no major complaints except for the odd rattle and buzz from the dashboard. I have had the car 13 months now and have covered 20k without a breakdown, so fingers crossed should be good for another few thousand.
vauxhall vectra c 2.2 sri sapphire black mettalic
VAUXHALL VECTRA 2.2i Direct SRi 5dr (Review date: 28th November '10)
having never owned a vectra c before let me tell you first hand wot this car is like, just one word to describe this car awesome. you might ask why well for a start its got one of the best shapes a hatchback can have. the mettalic black is mirror like when you polish it. now lets look at the power at 155bhp doesnt sound much but let me tell you i have had many fords and the last car was a peugeot 406 estate. all these cars were petrol and most were 2litre. none of them responded with the peddle to the floor like the vectra. this car just goes instantly you put your foot down. now although it will get thirsty and need more fuel lets not forget the pleasure you get when you drive it. now you ask are there any down sides yes afew but most of these you can fix yourself, e.g sensors for the lights come on sometimes and also the petrol flap solonoid blows the fuse so you cant fill up, easy fix just replace the solonoid got mine from ebay cost a fiver. other than that i have had no problems with this car. if you want looks power and comfort with great sound system buy this car cos you will never buy any other make when you have had this one. truly value for money and affordable to enjoy a little luxury at the same time.
