Fantastic drive

TOYOTA YARIS 1.0 16v VVTi GLS 5dr (Review date: 19th January '12)

I would recommend this car to anyone and everyone that want to buy a car. It is cost effective in every way, fuel, insurance, road tax, servicing. I bought this car in 2004 (4 years old), its almost 8 years and I've not had any problem with it. I've been meaning to change my car ( just for the sake of it) since 2010, 2 years down the line I still can not find a car close to it especially with petrol price sky rocketing everyday. I am very proud of my car it is very reliable and drives smoothly for a car that is under a litre (petrol). Although its interior is basic with radio and cassette, was able to change my radio/cassette and no air condition (but it has sunroof which makes up for this). I would recommend it anyone that loves small cars and would like to save money.

Toyota Yaris

TOYOTA YARIS 1.0 VVT-i T Spirit 5dr (Review date: 19th January '12)

4.5

I'm the second owner of my Toyota Yaris. It's a 1litre engine and the one main downside to this is the lack of oomph. It is very slow to get up to any speed on a motorway, you really need to pick big gaps to overtake into. Having said that, once you get up to speed it runs very smoothly and efficiently. Around town is it's true strength. It's nippy, small and easy to park. Beware trying to pull away in second from slow speed though, again no torque, it really does need 1st gear up to 10mph.

With teenage kids this little 5-door car is ideal. We're all quite tall, ranging from 5'7 to 6'4", and with the ability to slide the back seat back, as well as the front, we all fit in in comfort. And this is a small car.

Even with the seat back I can still fit a full week of groceries for a family of four in the boot.

And with the back seat rolled down and forward I've transported my kids to university with their whole lives in the back. Again, this slows acceleration yet more but once you're up to speed, lovely ride.

Finally, having had a Ford Fiesta before which was very low to the ground, my Yaris is tall. The seats are high and the interior spacious. I never feel like I'm inside a small car. And, as you'd expect from Toyota, the interior is a very high spec, good quality finish.

I love my Yaris. It won't need a third owner, it'll be with me until one of us drops.

Toyota Yaris X reg 2000

TOYOTA YARIS 1.0 16v VVTi GS 3dr (Review date: 18th January '12)

4.8

Brilliantly reliable buit a bit gutless at times. You have to wind it up as it's only a 1 litre engine. Quite good on fuel but not maybe when compared to some of the new models available today, it does around 41mpg and 50+ on a run. Plently of passenger room and a lot of luggage space with the back seats down. Great to use as a shopping car/run about or for commuting but not very luxurious for a night out. I would recommend them as a practical, reliable car. I would have another, without question.

My Yaris is great

TOYOTA YARIS 1.3 VVT-i Blue 5dr (Review date: 11th December '11)

5

Great Car, reliable, well built, safe, economical and suprisingly quick with the 1.3 VVTi. As a second car or money saving first this is a great buy. The cherry on the cake has to be the bullit-proof residual values. You can expect that even after a few years of motoring you are going to get back a fair chunk of your original purchase price. Look for a car with less than 7,000 miles per annum and a full Toyota Service history then don't hesitate to hand your money over!

VERY RELIABLE AND FUEL ECONOMICAL CAR

TOYOTA YARIS 1.0 16v VVTi GLS 3dr (Review date: 3rd December '11)

4.5

VERY RELIABLE CAR, EASY TO LOOK AFTER AND FUN TO DRIVE. MADE FOR CITY TRAVELLING AND PRETTY DECENT ON MOTORWAY. FUEL ECONOMY IS EXCEPTIONAL. IF LOOKED AFTER WELL ENGINE PERFORM VERY WELL AND GO LONG WAY. MAINTENANCE COST IS VERY LOW. VERY SUITABLE TO FIRST TIME BUYERS AS LOW IN INSURANCE AND VERY EASY TO DRIVE. IT WAS MY FIRST CAR AND ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. OWNED IT SO FAR FOR 3 YEARS AND HAD NO INTENTION EVER TO SELL IT BUT DUE TO NEW JOB WILL BE DOING ALOT OF MOTORWAY TRAVELLING AND WOULD LIKE CRUISE CONTROL WHICH THIS CAR UNFORTUNATELY DOESNT HAVE AS IT IS MADE FOR CITY TRAVELLING PRIMARILY.

Fuel efficient

TOYOTA YARIS 1.0 16v VVTi GLS 5dr (Review date: 1st November '11)

4.5

I owned my Toyota Yaris for approx 1 year, found it very reliable and cost friendly. Didn't have to visit the petrol station that often as very economical on fuel. Cheap to insure and tax. Wouldn't recomend for long motorway journeys, but great for around town and great for small spaces to park. Would recommend this car for anyone with a tight budget. Also this car doesn't have a cam belt as it is chain driven, so great for when it comes to servicing.

I fell in love with my Yaris!

TOYOTA YARIS 1.4 D-4D GS 5dr (Review date: 30th October '11)

4.3

I absolutley love this car, you know why? Because I learnt to drive in this little beauty (the newer version mind) but the fact is, it is SO easy to drive!

My car has 5 doors which is brilliant when carrying extra passengers in the back (no lumbering over car seats etc!) and 3 people can sit in comfort with no squabbling!

The boot is medium sized but the foldable seats allows even a bike or wheelchair to fit in! (which I have tested myself!)

I love the digital speedometer and low £30 a year road tax - it's a great runner that does 70MPG and I hardly have to fill up often!

The only thing I'd say is that it struggles at high speeds and is quite noisy for someone sitting in the back. Whether this is a common problem or something to do with the age/high mileage of my car I'm not sure, but the thing I would say is that don't buy this car if you commute long distances every day as it can be quite a bumpy ride.

The yaris is perfect for short distance driving and commuting, I use my car everyday to travel to college and have no problems at all with driving it - it's brilliant.

Ok so there's no air con and no fancy in built GPS but you know what the yaris lacks it certainly excels as a friendly, practical and great little runner and I would recommend anyone to have one!
