ROVER STREETWISE 2.0TD SE 5dr [101PS] (Review date: 19th January '12)
bought my Streetwise last year as a daily driver ..a money-saving exercise and so far its been OK . An 04 plate for less than £2k with a low(ish) mileage and a good spec.
So far it has been reliable and I get about 40-45 mpg round town using 50/50 bio-diesel It is comfortable and the seats are supportive and there is plenty of space (needed as I am 6'3"!
The car was in good condition but I had the timing belt change anyway...The only niggle is the security system...make sure you get 2 keys as they are expensive to source..and join the MG forum for helpful advice should you need it.
So far I have found it spacious for 2 with enough luggage space for most occasions The bodywork is in good condition apart from a rust spot on the drivers door edge which I am told is caused by a design fault.
so far I would recommend one
cheap, but getting old now!

This is probably the most reliable car I have owned. My wife drives an audi,A3 which is a much better driving experience, but is nowhere near as reliable. The 103 bhp 1.4 engine is capable if driven hard.
The best thing about the car, however, is the funky look. One of the last attempts by Rover to keep the 200/25 model going and although the changes over a standard rover are only fairly superficial, it looks much better in my opinion!
THe main bad point is that it is not too practical if you have a baby or small child. The rear seats (two, not three) are not shaped to take baby seats well and the room in the back is a bit limited too. Nevertheless, one of my favourite cars to have owned.
best car i have owned

bought this car brand new from rover and have done 235,00 miles to date. still get the same amount of miles per tank that i did when new.nothing major to date gone wrong usual cam belt change etc and do oil change every 10,000 miles. great looking motor so practical around london or on motorway. e/windows e/mirrors air con cd player with best thing that it has ipod lead and can change tracks or radio stations without having to touch radio from control on steering wheel. all my friends love to drive it so say no more. passes mot every year without anything major.

What can I say, you will love the looks or not. Rover tried to make it look like an urban 4x4 and it came out like this, it looks quite cool in my eyes.
It comes in either 4 or 5 seats the fronts being sporty bucket types giving good support which makes it stand out. It handles well and will take 4 adults with a good space for luggage.
I have the diesel and it gives between 36 around town and 55 on a run.
No complaints in 2 years it hasn't the most refines diesel engine ever made but reliable.
Seriously cool ;)

I'm just out of college and wanted a car that looked cool and would make my friends jealouse! Its safe to say that this did the job! It looks great (especially in grey) and always attracts attention where ever I go. They also seem to be very rare! I have not seen another one which just helps make it even more unique. It is also very quick and powerful! Plus the engine gives an almighty roar! My friends always point and wave when I drive past and I think they must all want one too! There is plenty of space inside and the interior is very modern. I read this car was aimed at the cool kids and I like to think this is true ;) Overall amazing!
ROVER STREETWISE 1.6 SE 5dr [109PS] (Review date: 23rd March '11)
The car is lovely to drive. It is very practical as we are expecting a child and the boot has enough space for the pram and shopping and the car seat fits well!
The car is sturdy built, feel very safe.
The car runs on avaerage fuel consumption for a vehicle of its age but is very fair. The insurance is average, difficult to judge as recently told my insurance has risen due to car crime in the county and the companies needing to recoup the money they had tro pay out in insurance ??
The only issue I have found with the Streetwise (all i viewed before purchasing this one) is the back doors seem to squeak when opening and closing them. Nothing that cannot be sorted with a little WD40 but dont be put off by this if you view one :)

although this car is over 7 years old have had very few problems over the last 5 years. since i have had it. Usual wear and tear and a couple od engine tune ups. However since Rover went bust some parts are thin on the ground but can be found. This is a generally good car but not really suited to family life as it only has four seats. The boot is fairly big but is not uniform so you have to fit stuff in creativly.
i use this car to get me to and from work. Always starts even in the worst freezing conditions BUT the winscreen wash system is hard to heat so it takes a while to get the system to work.
Drives well, easy to maintain and running costs are nothing outn of the ordinary.

Really great car, perfect for me, not very big thean great for parking. Nice size of boots. Looks great. 5 doors is perfect when you trawel with childrens, you can always secure lock the back doors. Air bag for driver only thean you can travel with your child on front seat too. I was really happy with this car...
