4.3
Have had my 59 plate almost a year now. Averaging 50 mpg (mostly city driving) Very happy with it so far, comfortable, punchy diesel, good build quality. Few quibbles, gearbox seems quite notchy and rear legroom poor(doesn't get used much though), also poor visibility when reversing. Wish I had gone for Dynamique trim rather than Expression as seems to have quite a lot more kit.

I found this car to be a little problematic at the start. Suspension and radiator trouble in the first year I've put down to bad luck but still not something you'd expect from a new car. That aside, it's brilliant for getting about in London. Fast off the line and takes every speed bump in South London like a dream...of which there are many!! all in all, I'd say buying this as used would have been a better idea. If you spot a good used one, buy it...it's fun, spacious, economical and performs great in urban areas. Thumbs up!

Have had this car for 2 years from new and just completed 45000 miles. Overall very pleased with it's fuel consumption averaginging 50 mpg, (mostly motorway). Fully loaded with all the latest gadgets, cruise, A/C, bluetooth etc, ( integrated Bluetooth invaluable) which do not come as standard on other makes for anywhere near the same price.
Downside, driver visibility looking left very poor, have tried the passenger seat in numerous positions, but still have rather large blind spot, does not fill me with confidence when turning right.
Back seat comfort not very good, passengers in a very upright position which is very uncomfortable over long journeys. On plus side, front driver and passengers have no complaints.
Overall a good car which is smooth with very good performance from a 1.5 dci. Excellent mpg with excellent specification and safety features. Let down with blind spot and poor comfort for rear passengers. Would still recommend as hard to beat for price and specification.

Well I went to the dealers with a wish list as long as my arm, and many of them told me I wouldn't get it! Wrong!
I needed something Economical - being a bit of an Eco Warrior, and also watching the pennies - max £30 to tax, low insurance, great mpg, BUT it needed to be big enough to carry me and my band, all the instruments and p.a., and also capable of towing a caravan....
I became an expert!! knew every model available in 2010. Ended up with this six-speed, 1.5 diesel version of the Megane, which didn't make it onto the shortlist until the last week of my six-week hunt.
However, it not only ticks all the boxes, but it is fun to drive, extremely comfortable, the kids round the corner shouted "nice car missis!" and my 75 year-old mum loves it!
It comes to work with me, carries the shopping, there's room for the dog in half the back so I can carry boxes as well if necessary, and the 2/3rds split of the rear seat means I've room for equipment and 2 people.
An extra bonus - managed 69.2mpg on a recent trip, which would have been better if I'd not been stuck in city centre traffic for part of it.
It was 12 months old when I bought it and had 18K miles on the clock, and a wierd fault on the computer which our local dealer fixed for me without quibbling, and the seat belt mechanism on the driver's seat was full of debris so it didn't lock properly, but apart from that no complaints at all - and those weren't exactly life-threatening! - unless you count the big box between the front seats which doubles as an armrest and does rather get in the way sometimes.... and it would be nice if the back door was a bit lower so loading was easier for the heavier stuff - I'm not getting any younger, you know.
Now my other half wants one as well..... no peace for the wicked, is there....? Anyone want to book a ceilidh band, looks as though I need to save up!

Surprising Megane
RENAULT MEGANE 1.5 dCi 106 Dynamique TomTom 5dr (Review date: 29th November '10)
4.5
My 1.5 diesel Megane wes not my first choice but was about all my lease co. [SOL] could let me have. It is a much better looking car now it does not have a 'sexy' rear end and the only reason I don't give it 5/5 for practicality is that I have to put the back seats down to get 2 lots of golf kit [including buggies] in. It is surprising how many car manufacturers don't seem to realise that golf is a fairly big sport and lot's of us share transport on away trips.
It came as real surprise when I started it up and drove it off. It is quick [by my standards]. It is economical [over 50 the gal.] and it suits me fine. The sat nav is a feature and my passengers spend time toggling the route ahead and the local features includes golf clubs so finding them has never been easier.
I might try the coupe next time, it looks even better.
